A Message From the Principal

Welcome to Westville Middle/High School! The school community of Westville is a place where families choose to send their students. Staff members are empowered to teach and all students and staff are accepted and celebrated. Students are encouraged to become complex thinkers, caring individuals, and community contributors within a safe, well-maintained environment that is conducive to learning. I am very proud of Westville and its many academic, athletic, and fine art achievements over the past several years.

One critical component of individual student and school-wide success is effective school to home communication. We encourage families to stay in close contact with our teachers and administration. You can always call the school office or contact the staff directly at their school email. PowerSchool and Google Classroom are two platforms used for student, teacher, and parent communication.

At Westville, we are collectively committed to preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century. In addition to the academic courses offered at Westville, we have joint partnerships with other local schools to offer students many opportunities. These schools include South Central, A.K. Smith Career Center, Purdue Northwest, Ivy Tech, and many of our seniors travel to local businesses to complete internships as part of our Work Based Learning (WBL) program.
We must continue to work hard to prepare students for the rigors of college and the workforce. By working together, we can form a partnership centered on high academic achievement that will allow our students to achieve the ultimate goal of graduating college and career ready.

I look forward to another great year where we Inspire, Challenge, and Educate our students. Go Blackhawks!

Yours in Education,

Alissa Schnick
Principal
